FE Terry Beaded Inset Kitchen
Baked on Paint
The number one cabinet style requested by most homeowners
today is called inset. The door and drawer are mounted
inside and flush with the cabinet frame. This style is not available from most cabinet companies because it requires extra attention to the cabinet construction details. The box has to be stable, the doors well made, and every door/drawer needs to be custom fit. Much of what is sold today does not have the close tolerances required for this style. We are happy to say that we specialize in inset style cabinets and ship to most of the USA at no extra charge. Almost any of our common door styles can be done as inset. You can pick the door style, choose a drawer style, select the finish, and we build the cabinets to fit your space.

Inset Cabinet Myths
Some cabinet makers cant offer you inset because they can't do it properly. These people have created a number of myths to discourage those who might like the inset cabinet style.
Myth #1: Inset style cabinet doors stick.
This is only true if the craftsman doesn't build them correctly. I have sold inset style cabinets for over 25 years and have never had one client complain of a door sticking. We warranty against sticking doors for as long as you own the cabinets.
Myth #2: Inset style cabinets have less storage.
If you look at a traditional framed cabinet with a full overlay door and compare it to an inset cabinet, you will clearly see there is exactly the same amount of storage in each cabinet. If you look at a contemporary frameless cabinet, you might find a minor increase in drawer size (drawer box only), but in an average kitchen it will only amount to less than 2%. We can build a frameless box, but we strongly recommend a framed cabinet due to the much added strength and durability in that type of construction offers. Inset style is not available on frameless cabinets because you need to set the door inside the cabinet frame.
Myth #3 Inset style costs a lot more compared to overlay style cabinets.
Many cabinets manufactured today use quick assembly methods and products that are not very stable. They sell these cabinets at low prices so they can move large quantities and make their corporations successful. To build a stable cabinet, better products are used, better joints, more time is spent on the details - this is what makes an inset cabinet cost more than the short term products you will find elsewhere. Most of the cost difference is due to the durability and stability of a well made product.
