This online version of our company has been successfully operating long distance ( shipping from Maine to California ) over the internet since 1996. We have been selling in the north east states ( MA, RI, NJ, NY, ME, NH, VT ) for over 25 years. We are registered in the state of Maine and our office is located in Surry, Maine. Our company is incorporated as Absolute Kitchen and Bath Marketplace, LLC. Our web site name, kitchenplace.com ,was chosen as an easy name to remember.
Our first Internet sale was to a homeowner in Pennsylvania in 1996. Since then we have shipped to most of the continental USA with a damage rate of less than one percent. Our sales continue to grow at a tremendous rate as more people become familiar with our outstanding all wood cabinets and award winning design service. We receive about 500,000 - 800,000 visits to our web site per month.
About ten years ago we decided to drop all stock and semi-custom cabinet brands (major national brands), so that we might focus on quality, durability, and products that offered reliable warranties. Since then we proudly introduced our own exclusive, all wood custom Fashionable Enclosures cabinet brand. Fashionable Enclosures, has been well received and continues to generate referral business and rave customer reviews. Fashionable Enclosures offers a limited lifetime warranty. Recently we have added the high quality bench made Eli Sperry cabinet brand. This brand has a five year limited warranty.

Most people make purchases from us without ever visiting our showroom. We loan color samples, wood samples, door samples as needed. We accept visitors by appointment only ( call 207-667-4439 ). We like to have at least a few days notice prior to any visits. We are primarily an internet company and maintain an office with limited displays rather than a large showroom. This helps us keep overhead low and our prices competitive in relation to other high end cabinet brands. We are located about 30 miles west of Bar Harbor, Maine, in the town of Surry. Purchasing quality cabinets from us is easy, and we guide you through each step.
We will need detailed dimensions of your space. If you need help, see our animated tutorial about how to measure or have your carpenter measure for you.
Supply us with your design including floor plan with cabinet codes and dimensions or a material list. If you don't already have a design, you may hire our national award winning designer to help you create a fabulous space. To create your your own design, check out our how to page and order our Fashionable Enclosures cabinet specifications catalog on CD ROM.
Let us estimate the cost of your project. Please review our estimate page for instructions on how to get an estimate and to see information on how our prices compare to other cabinet brands.
Once a final design and price has been agreed upon, we send you a detailed sales package including a sales agreement, a scaled floor plan, copies of your 3-D perspectives, a material list, door style and molding specifications, and wood and color samples as needed. The sales package is sent to you via overnight Fed Ex with a prepaid return air bill and box.
You carefully review and approve the sales package and return the sales documents and samples to us with payment so that we can place your order. The shop enters your cabinets into production. In approximately 8-9 weeks* (for F. E. brand - Eli Sperry is approx.10-12 weeks*) your new cabinets are delivered to your home. Because we loan samples to many customers, the samples you receive with your sales package should be returned within seven business days. If you require a sample beyond the seven day loan period, please call us to let us know what you need, 207-667-4439. Unreturned finish sample blocks are charged to you at $20 per sample (door samples are $250 each).
*Please call us for our current delivery schedule. Lead times can vary from 8 to 16 weeks.
