The Hoover Kitchen

The following images are not meant to be exact. The actual cabinet wood
color and door style will be different. The images are for general design
appearance only. Some cabinet detail may also be different from what is
generated by the computer.

Top view
This is a top view of the kitchen so that you can see the shape of the counter top.
The plan is similar to the idea you submitted, but this plan has significant features
over the other idea. See notes below each picture for more info as to the advantages.

Sink view
This view shows the angled sink, and lots of counter over the dishwasher.
There is ample room for cleanup and the corner base cabinet has been angled
to allow for easier use of the corner. People tend not to work in a corner
due to the 90 degree counter hitting the hips. With a wider 45 degree corner,
the hips don't hit the counter and working there feels more natural.
The clean up person can view the ocean or talk to people
that are seated at the table or in front of the fireplace.

Bake center
This view shows a preparation or bake center area. The oven is placed at a 45
degree angle in the corner to add character to the room. The refer is located
to the left ( near the door way ) so that people can access it without disturbing the cook.
Note the large counter space for groceries bags and working.

Close-up of oven
Closer view of oven cabinet.

Cooktop
This is a view of the cooktop area. Since a commercial style cooktop
is being used, a powerful hood must be used. This arrangement
allows for the use of a ducted hood. Note the soffit hides
the duct work above. The left and right wall conceal the two posts.
Concealing the posts is less costly than trimming them out and
working cabinets and counter top around them.
The optional arched valance adds a decorative touch.

View of attached seating
This view gives you a better idea of the space. The eating counter is in the form of
an attached table . The table allows for people to converse easier than sitting
shoulder to shoulder. It also allows people to see the view some what better.
Serving the table from the cooktop is a snap. Clean-up is also easy.
Note the corner wall cabinet above the sink with glass doors on both sides.

Fireplace
This is a view of the small built-in gas fireplace. The picture above the mantel
might slide up to reveal a flat screen TV. I highlighted some optional turned columns in
a different color so they would show up in this image.

Furniture
A view from behind generic furniture.
